A demanding selection of the best French addresses

The Lanis estate features in the 2025 edition of the Figaro Magazine guide – Escapades en France , which each year lists a selection of charming addresses for escapes in France.
Since 2009, this guide has highlighted places chosen for their hospitality, their character and their local roots. This year, it is opening up to lodges, houses for rent and small hotels , while maintaining a rigorous selection: only 58 establishments have been selected across the country.

A pride in representing Aude, the soul of the South

It is a great source of pride for us to represent Aude in this edition, and to showcase the southern soul, so dear to our region.
This recognition not only highlights our place, but also a whole way of welcoming, transmitting, and bringing a territory to life.

The estate's assets in the spotlight

• 🏡 An emblematic farmhouse in Castelnaudary , completely renovated
• 🚲 A cycling welcome , with the Accueil Vélo label
• 🍽️ A homemade table d'hôtes , which promotes local products
• 🌳 A setting conducive to recharging your batteries , a stone's throw from the Canal du Midi

This selection highlights our desire to offer our guests a sincere, peaceful stay rooted in our region , in a house where every detail is designed to create a unique experience.

In May 2025, our energy transition took shape with the installation of 55 photovoltaic panels on the roof of the winery, at the entrance to the estate. This architectural choice allows us to preserve the character of the main building.

Green electricity produced on site

With a power of 27.5 kWp , our installation allows for efficient self-consumption . Over certain periods, the surplus is resold, contributing to a short energy circuit logic.

We have also selected a real-time production and consumption monitoring application to adapt our uses and reduce our carbon footprint.

Another step towards more responsible tourism

This installation is part of a global approach, rewarded by the Green Key 2025 label.

It complements our commitments to sustainable and authentic accommodation , respectful of the environment, heritage and our guests.

Less than 10 minutes from the Lanis estate, the Abbey of Saint-Papoul seduces with the richness of its architecture: Romanesque sculptures, Gothic cloister, Baroque choir, enchanting garden and craft shop.

Our guests benefit from a 15 to 20% discount on admission and guided tours, thanks to our partnership with this emblematic historical site of Lauragais.

And if you want to extend your exploration, a hiking trail connects Saint-Papoul to Saint-Martin-Lalande, through the hilly landscapes of the southwest. A great way to combine heritage and nature during your stay.

For inclusive and respectful tourism

From the beginning of our project, it was essential for us to make the estate accessible to all. This has resulted in practical and thoughtful developments, including a spacious and comfortable PMR room (Gingembre), easy access to common areas and attention paid to everyone's needs.

We have paid a lot of attention to the decoration and equipment of this PMR room to offer the same level of comfort and quality as in the other rooms.

Want a cocooning moment during your stay at domaine de Lanis?

Now you can enjoy a massage in the privacy of your room.

You would like a massage alone, Laura will come and perform an intuitive and personalized massage. Whether you enjoy a deep or enveloping massage, Laura will be there to help you have an unforgettable time.

You come as a couple and you prefer to be massaged together, Laura is accompanied by Audrey. They will help you discover the happiness and relaxation of a duo massage.

Duration: 1 hour

Price: solo €70 / duo €140 to be paid directly to the service provider on site.

The reservation is made online at the time of booking the room and will be confirmed 48 hours later or on site upon your arrival.

Please note the duo massage can only be offered in the ginger, turmeric, poppy and hibiscus rooms.

The Domaine de Lanis is committed to sustainable tourism and is currently in the process of obtaining Green Key labeling, 1st international environmental label for tourist accommodation and catering.

We offer you a weekend to discover the biggest "fat fair" in Aude which will take place on Sunday December 3 in Castelnaudary !

The Foire au Gras is the annual local market for duck producers, a craft fair and many activities. A unique opportunity to eat well and prepare your shopping for the end of year celebrations!

Our Foire au Gras weekend includes:

• The night of December 2 to 3 in one of our 5 guest rooms
• A special discovery dinner to give you a taste of the fair including aperitif, appetizer, starter, main course, dessert, wine and coffee
• A breakfast from 7:30 a.m. for early risers and/or those with a sweet tooth who would like to enjoy the fair as soon as it opens!
• A place in our freezers for your ice packs
• And a place in our refrigerators for those who stay with us on Sunday

It's official the Domaine de Lanis will open its doors and its rooms on June 28, 2023. 18 months that we are in the plans, the works, electricity, plumbing, painting, coating,... in the decoration and the search for furniture and others decorative items…

But that's it, we are in the very last finishes and will open 3 of our rooms from June 28th!

Two rooms are already bookable online. The third located on the ground floor and equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility will be in the next few days!
